Author Visits

I would love to present at your school or conference! I can do a writing workshop with a small group of students, or an interactive, audience-participation-filled presentation to a large group of children or adults, with many other options in between. I have experience presenting to all ages, from preschoolers up through adult writers and librarians.

You can see some of the presentations I offer at https://thebookingbiz.com/client/laura-gehl/. In addition, I am always happy to customize a presentation to fit the needs of your group.

Please email me at laurameressa (at) gmail.com to discuss what might be right for you, or contact Julie Ann Hartman of The Booking Biz at julieann (at) thebookingbiz.com in order to book a presentation or workshop.

Virtual Visits:

I also offer virtual presentations for schools, libraries, and conferences. My virtual visit rate is typically half of my in-person rate. Please get in touch to discuss options and availability.

“Laura’s fun-filled presentation was phenomenal. The students were actively engaged from start to finish. They loved the games, props, and of course the giant underwear! Our school can’t wait to have her visit again!” —Kandy Quint, Librarian, St. Andrew’s UMC Day School, Edgewater, MD

“Laura was just incredible with our students. Her presentation was engaging and interesting, full of movement, interactive writing, and lots of laughter. Laura’s visit was truly memorable for students and teachers alike, and we are thrilled we have had the opportunity to have her inspire our students! We can’t wait for her next book!” —Marie Wright, Director of Elementary Programs, The River School, Washington DC

“Laura Gehl’s school presentations are highly dynamic, high-engagement, incredibly educational affairs! Laura has an easy rapport with students and beautifully tailors each presentation to build upon her book’s themes in sensitive, relatable ways. By incorporating an assortment of activities within each presentation, Laura reaches the range of learning styles in every student group. She is unflagging in her creativity — and boundless in her energy — and sparks a joy of reading and enthusiasm for creative writing and storytelling among the children. It’s always a treat to spend a day visiting a school with Laura!” —Kit Ballenger, Program Director, An Open Book Foundation
